Oranga Hinengaro o Te Matau a Maui provides kaupapa Māori Hinengaro assessments, intervention and consultative services to whānau throughout the wider Hawkes Bay DHB region.
How can I access Oranga Hinengaro services?
Oranga Hinengaro services are available to whānau in Wairoa,
Napier, Hastings and the Central Hawkes Bay districts,
8.30am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday. Services are provided by a skilled
multidisciplinary team including: Cultural Advisors, Clinical
Leaders, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Registered Nurses, Social
Workers and Community Support Workers.

Specialist assessment (clinical and
cultural), diagnosis and associated wellness support plans
Medication and other treatments in
accordance with wellness support plans
Advice on all matters relating to
maintaining Hinengaro wellness
Referrals to primary health and
specialist Hinengaro services for assessment and treatment
Facilitation and access to
traditional Māori interventions and other community based
initiatives
Assistance with whānau and
significant others concerning education of Hinengaro issues
