Whānau Tu Whānau Ora Kia Piki Te Oranga

As part of the Kahungunu Hikoi Whenua Health Promotion Plan Whānau Tu Whānau Ora Kia Piki Te Oranga was established to initiate and promote healthy kai and physical activity programmes to whānau in the Camberley and Mayfair communities.  Whānau Tu Whānau Ora Kia Piki Te Oranga will deliver three programmes: Pai Tinana - Move 2 Improve, Mai Kai - Look 2 Cook and Kai Whenua - Know 2 Grow.

Pai Tinana Move 2 Improve: motivating whānau to get up and get active.

Kani Kani Mai - latin infused dance/ exercise sessions
Boxfit - vigorous boxing sessions to strengthen and tone the upper and lower body
Hikoi Whenua - promoting physical activity around the rohe, walking, hiking, biking and swimming

Mai Kai Look 2 Cook: encouraging whānau to make conscious decisions regarding what they eat

Mai Kai cooking sessions cover four modules over five weeks for five participants.  Cooking sessions will be held four times a year

Kai Whenua Know 2 Grow: teaching whānau how to grow vegetables at home

Kai Whenua shows whānau how to implement mara kai (vegetable gardens) in their homes.  It teaches the basics of vegetable gardening and how to care and maintain plants
