Taikura: The Taikura programme is designed to
assist Maori over 55 years in improving their health and well being
through participating in a range of activities. These activities
range from physical activity, food and nutrition to waiata and
personal development.
Tuesday, 6pm to 7pm.
Kāinga Tautoko: Socialisation:
Facilitate access to activities that promote wellness and
independence while increasing personal networks Exercise and
Fitness: Provide access to exercise at appropriate levels.
Kaumatua Services: Free monthly three
point health checks including: testing blood pressure, weight
and height checks as well as regular physical activities.
Education on improved health and nutrition. Smoking
cessation or reduction and breast and cervical screening.
Monthly social hui at local Marae in the community - check the Calendar of Events for specific dates.
Regular physical activities: Tai Chi Class,
Exercise Class
Physical activity: Friday, 9.30am to 10.30am, Te Whare
Oranga
Tai Chi: Monday, 9am to 10am, Transition Room.
