To be eligible to vote, voters must be:

Registered with Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi incorporated. New Registrations with Ngati Kahungunu will close for the election on the day nominations close - 9 November 2018. Please note: New Registrations will be closed on the day of voting at the Marae Election hui.

Only Tangata Whenua ki Heretaunga: being those members who affiliate by whakapapa to Kahungunu, who reside in Heretaunga and have association to marae/Hapū of Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga may vote.

Every Hapū/Marae Group, shall convene and complete an election in accordance with the following principles:

- Only registered members of that Hapū/Marae Group may be nominated for appointment to the Board to represent that Hapū/Marae Group

- Nomination shall be by way of formal written nomination signed by two registered members of the Hapū/Marae Group and countersigned by the nominee.

Important dates:

October 10        Nominations Open at 12 noon

November 9      Nominations Close at 12 noon

Nov 24 - Dec 7  Election hui held at each marae (if required)

December 15     Official results declared
